As a web developer (as in the world of JavaScript / Python / PHP / Ruby ), I don't really know much about C or operating system stuff. So I have a total noob question. What goes into "maintaining" USB development? I mean, the USB ports have worked for years, no? What is there to be done? To my naive ears this is like hearing that someone is actively contributing to the technology behind light switches. Can someone in the know describe what goes into this?
