- eli_gottlieb 11y agoKill List: War [ALMOST X] Famine [X] Pestilence [Almost X] Death [TODO]
- baq 11y ago> War [ALMOST X] couldn't be farther from truth.
- ItsDeathball 11y agoIt kind of depends on your definition of "war" and how you attribute causes of death, but in general, deaths due to warfare have been declining since the development of nuclear weapons and globalization. http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2014/jul/21/stu-burguiere/fewer-wars-fewer-people-dying-wars-now-quite-some/ http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2014/jul/21/...
- michaelkeenan 11y agoIt'd be further from the truth if war deaths were increasing, or were decreasing at a slower rate. The war death rate is down to about 5% of its peak. http://ourworldindata.org/data/war-peace/war-and-peace-after-1945/ http://ourworldindata.org/data/war-peace/war-and-peace-after...
- oldmanjay 11y agoI'm not super on board with the idea that the death rate is much of a worthwhile metric for determining how warlike we are as a people. It smells shockingly similar to counting lines of code.
