I wonder how hard it would be to just virtualize linux all the time, rather than trying to load linux on new hardware. How much do you lose as the tech to virtualize gets better?
- kozukumi 11y agoNot really the point. Sure I can stick Linux in a VM but what if I want to run something other than Windows on hardware that I own?
- jhugg 11y agoYeah, not your point, but it's a question for me. If the machine has drivers for the windows kernel, and probably terrible drivers for linux, how thin can that shim get?
- tdicola 11y agoWhy pay a license for a host OS if you just want to run Linux?
- jhugg 11y agoDrivers. Sadly.
