somewhat offtopic.. back to the future: part II marty travels to October 21, 2015. It's pretty hilarious to see the scenery they depict:
* hoverboards
* flying cars
* flying advertisements
* hologram advertisements
* autolacing shoes
* autofitting/drying jackets
* robot bartenders
You know, for a 30 year guess (produced in 1985), they weren't far off.. we have
* Robot cars
* all sorts of automated beverage stations
* VR making a comeback (just wait for FB to sell some VR ads)
I'm sure the other stuff is just around the corner :)

- mkehrt 11y agoYou missed the one they got really right, because it looks so natural: flat-screen tv.
- tauchunfall 11y agoI find it interesting, that instead of on-demand-TV they solved the problem of missing TV-shows by showing multiple shows on one screen. Actually my family had cable TV and a Grundig television in the early nineties with such a function.
- zyxley 11y agoDon't forget the double-neckties fashion.
- INTPenis 11y agoNo they weren't far off but it's still funny how much their guess resembles the pictures linked in this thread. Because they were still thinking in 80s terms. They were still thinking physical activities and active children outdoors while the reality was that those arcade machines from the 80s evolved into tiny pocket computers so kids are now engrossed in their palms instead of nature. So their vision of 2015 was really just the 80s with some neat things tacked on. Just like these images, it's really just the 1900s with some magical tools. Back to the future did try to guess how fashion would change, at least the people in the 1900s were smarter than that. Guessing the internet in the 1900s would be easier than guessing fashion yesterday.
