I don't see this article, or these end of the world scenarios, as things you should be anxious about. Maybe some people suggest they are, but to me an article like this serves two purposes: 1. To remind people who are in positions to solve this problem that it is still a problem, by bringing attention to the issue. 2. To give an interesting example of an unexpected negative externality of a system as a case study, which might help me think differently about systems I create.
