The screenshot api has been in Firefox since v4 I think. I've been using this addon (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firecaptor/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/firecaptor/) to capture element of a page. It works like the inspector tool when selecting an element.
