They were not even aware of it in the first place. I just asked two people around me if they knew what Civil Asset Forfeiture was. Both said no. I then asked them if they had heard about the police confiscating the money from the guy who was driving back from Las Vegas after he won a jackpot. They both said yes. Sometimes it's not a lack of awareness of the issue, it's a lack of awareness of what the the technical or legal term is.
