In this context, what's the difference between a "runtime" and a "VM" ? What does a "VM" have in addition to a "runtime" ?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runtime_system https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runtime_system libc is a runtime, but not a VM.
