I've always thought that Kuhn mostly repackaged the works Ludwik Fleck and used a different domain than medicine for the examples. That's a gross oversimplification but Fleck makes for an interesting read. I think Kuhn/Fleck should be required reading for any scientist (with a grain of salt). There's obviously the issue that Kuhn applied to Kuhn is somewhat problematic.
