You should also note the author of that washington post article is a chronic SJW. I was suspicious when I saw the articles under "Liked that? Try these" all fitted the same narrative. Then I discovered they were all written by Caitlin Dewey. That probably explains the over exaggeration.

I think most SJW journalists are motivated simply by clicks. The more they complain about injustices the more trolls will say hurtful things on purpose, eg the wanting to rape women on twitter comments in the other article she wrote.
People need to remember the age old "don't feed the trolls". Grow a spine, without it you're going to live an awfully offended life.
