Society gives you praise for basic child rearing tasks because then you will feel good about not being involved with your kids and will focus on work first. Try and actually be a more involved dad and you will face a lot of backlash. I was constantly discriminated against because I worked a 9-day fortnight and spent the other day with my kids.
