A bit unrelated, but I really don't get the idea of "distraction free" editing for documentation. When I write documentation, it's always side-by-side with existing specs, a codebase or a demo. I never really feel the need to disconnect from what I'm documenting.

- lightchasing 11y agoThe idea of writing a novel in vim makes my stomach hurt. But also I want to try it.
- mcjiggerlog 11y agoPeople use markdown for more than documentation - I use a very similar setup to the OP's for journaling, where I definitely do want to disconnect.
