Is the word "liberal" being used ironically?
- kijin 11y ago"Liberal" has many definitions depending on who you ask, so your definition may very well be different from that of the authors. Having said that, this is a GNU project so I would have preferred "free" to "liberal". A payment system consisting entirely of free software, perhaps.
- belorn 11y agoLiberty is to be under no restraint apart from standing rules to live by that are common to everyone in the society. Persons have a right to follow their own will in all things that the law has not prohibited and not be subject to the inconstant, uncertain, unknown, and arbitrary wills of others. Is that a acceptable definition for you?
