Can we run gitlab 8.0 without CI?

  You can just not use it. There will be a few links in the UI, but it will not cost you anything. Note that you can still integrate with your current CI.

    And the links will mostly be in the settings menu's. In GitLab 8.1 there should be zero links added to dashboard/group/project navigation https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/issues/2594 https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab-ce/issues/2594

    How do we point to an existing CI environment? In 7.14 we used GitLab CI service and pointed it to the Jenkins project URL. With the CI integration it appears those options have been removed.
