I unfortunately don't remember where I heard this (maybe in the Freakonomics episode "Is college really worth it?" [1]), but 6 years of college clearly beat 6 years of experience. Also: getting 6 years of relevant work experience is (way) harder if you don't have a college degree in the first place...
