- arbitrage 11y ago... and milk?
- mironathetin 11y agoMilk from cows? No. Causes many problems (lactose, cholesterol).
- krapp 11y agoI think arbitrage may be referring to human milk, because humans are, you know, mammals.

- noir_lord 11y agoNot really across all of humanity. The majority of the human race lack the ability to digest milk (more specifically lactose sugar) once they are passed weaning. It was a relatively recent mutation in some human populations (Northern Europe et al) that allows them to continue digesting lactose into adulthood. They think this was because in Northern Climates where growing crops was more difficult milk and dairy products where a much larger source of calories than in other places as well as an excellent way of storing a valuable food product (Cheese however has relatively low levels of lactose at around ~1% compared to regular milk at ~5%). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactase_persistence https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactase_persistence
- debacle 11y agoEvolution is a result, not a method. Nothing ever evolves to do anything.

After just few seconds of search.. So apparently some scientists didn't get the memo. Hopefully some day you will also evolve to be less nitpicky.
- frankzinger 11y agoWow, is that really how you read your parent? I thought his meaning was crystal clear. Why just assume he doesn't understand evolution?
- recycleme 11y agoHe's not wrong. He's correcting the improper use of the word. However, I would say evolution has results but is actually a process.
- debacle 11y agoYeah, evolution is definitely a cycle, but it can also be a state (mankind's current state of evolution). Maybe I could have been more clear about that.
- debacle 11y agoIt's an important distinction. Evolution is definitely not prescriptive of what an organism can and can't do except as a result of trial and error.
- Shengbo 11y agoNo thanks, I want to keep my liver in shape.
- tajen 11y ago...and used to die at 30 years old.
- 6d6b73 11y agoNot because of water, but because of other factors. I'm not trying to say that we have to go back to the savannas and live as hunter gatherers. I just think that the more we learn about ourselves, the most likely it looks like we are better off with putting in our bodies only the minimum that's necessary to sustain life.
