Shouldn't the credit card companies be the ones to handle the loss?
- jib 11y agoYou would wish so:). But no. Merchants are on the hook for all costs, including penalties for incoveniencing the cc companies (either a set fee per fraudulent transaction, or high fees if exceeding thresholds of fraud if you are a larger guy).
