i don't think the cops suspected it was a bomb. i think the cops figured, he made it to look like a bomb and was trying to use it for a bomb threat. i think they overracted and probably violated the law by questioning him without his lawyer present - they should go to jail. it's understandable why they did what they did, but they should be punished.
