Apple Acquires Mapsense, a Mapping Visualization Startup
- sidcool 11y agoAlthough with a shaky start, Apple maps has improved in leaps and bounds. A long way to catch up with Google Maps but they are on the right track.
- hutattedonmyarm 11y agoYep. My only issues are the foot navigation and public transport
- freehunter 11y agoI really miss having an "avoid tolls" option for Apple Maps. I was in New Jersey recently with no cash and had to get real creative.
- elros 11y agoWhile I do understand that in the USA the transportation culture is very different, my European self can't help but equate that to "My only issues are with the two only modals everyone uses daily" :-)
- hutattedonmyarm 11y agoI am German actually, mainly use the app for car navigation
- epmatsw 11y agoPublic transport in iOS 9 has seemed decent, at least in my limited usage. So that's trending upward at least.
- ChuckMcM 11y agoWhich was the point all along right? You continue to pour money into something as long as its getting better. For companies like Google that release early and often you can usually tell when the project gets unfunded as the product just sort of stops evolving at all. This acquisition makes a lot of sense for Apple, I would have loved to have seen what they did with Waze had they bought them.
