Because you can reach your friends and loved ones with WA. It is quite simple.
You can make a better IM with fewer people, when you don't have bloat like stickers market and celebrity chats. And don't try to push people to buy those stickers in every possible menu. (Hi Viber).

- aianus 11y agoThanks, I feel dumb. Although that makes his argument "WhatsApp is good because you can use it to keep in touch with friends and family" which is meaningless.
- tome 11y agoIf it makes you feel any better I had the same question and had to look around for context!
- jzzskijj 11y agoHow do you mean meaningless? What do you do with a "good" IM app, if your loved ones aren't using it? The most of the relatives and friends already have WhatsApp installed and are using it. Can't contact them with Telegram, IRC, HipChat, Viber, Skype, etc.
- aianus 11y agoWell, that's a different argument. You could use hip chat to talk to your family and keep in touch, they just don't have it installed already. Anyways, Facebook has more users than WhatsApp. Where do you live that people don't have Facebook? What is the advantage of having a WhatsApp account instead of or in addition to a Facebook account?
