I average about 1.75 years, my last few phones I've called a few months before the renewal to ask for an early upgrade. They make these things so fragile I'm sure they're replaced way more often than expected. I did get the S5 Active as my last phone and it has taken some abuse. Things that should have broken the screen have just left deep nicks.
