Isn't believe in progress a religion?

  Beliefs are not the same as a religion. I believe the Earth revolves around the sun, but that doesn't make it a religion.

    This proof doesn't work because you're trying to treat a fact as a belief. A belief is something you believe to be true but isn't verified. >>I believe the Earth revolves around the sun, but that doesn't make it a religion. This is not a belief because it's a proven fact. If religion were based on facts it wouldn't be religion, it would be science.

      Beliefs and facts are orthogonal. Beliefs can be factual or counterfactual. Facts can be believed or disbelieved.

  No. Words have meanings, and that's not one of them.
