    I think the joke is that "all the way" is making full contact with the ground, i.e. crashing. Kinda like falling out of a skyscraper doesn't kill you. It's the sudden stop at the end that does. (But I'm not defending the joke :)

      Or after an engine failure in an airplane. "How far can we get on the other engine?" "I'd say it should take us all the way to the crash site."

      Actually on many bikes, like in supermoto, you can lean all the way over until you're scraping the pegs
