Only in US.
- sant0sk1 17y agoI'm in the US so I've never tried, but couldn't you still get at the content through a US-based HTTP proxy?
- ramchip 17y agoIf you don't care about legality, all kinds of restrictions go away...
- cwp 17y agoUsing a proxy is not illegal.

- ramchip 17y agoUsing a computer/gun/lock pick isn't illegal either.
- sant0sk1 17y agoWhich law would that be breaking? Is it illegal to act like you are located somewhere that you are not?
- ramchip 17y agoGood old copyright law, just like Hulu. If the content producers allowed for distribution in the US only, getting it from somewhere else is a violation of the license agreement. Now, I don't think they'll grab the logs from Amazon and run after you in another country for it... PS: Somewhat implied but IANAL.
- Frazzydee 17y agoIt might be a violation of the license agreement between amazon & the content providers, but you're not violating it yourself. You really only need to be concerned about whether you're violating the law of the country you're in. AFAIK, you'd only be committing secondary infringement in Canada if you sell/rent/redistribute the song. I don't think using a proxy in this context would be a violation of copyright law and I wouldn't call it a clear-cut question, so you should really cite more than "copyright law" as an answer to sant0sk1's question.
- chrischen 17y agoSomeone from another country not only did not sign any contract, but have different copyright laws applying to him or her. Also getting something is not distributing, it's causing something to distribute.
- DenisM 17y agoThe content is given to you on conditions outlined in Terms of Use. If you a agree to the terms, but later violate the terms you are breaking the contract, thus violating contract law. If you manage to avoid getting into contract by side-stepping "I agree" button, you are obtaining content without a license, hence violating copyright law. The act of side-stepping can be construed to mean "unauthorized computer system access", aka "hacking" or "cracking". None of this is likely to get you prosecuted, but then if prosecution is all you care about you could use other means to obtain content which are also not very likely to get you in trouble. This is not a legal advice, I am not a lawyer.
- Ennis 17y agoditto....I tried hotspot shield and it didn't work. It's a shame..I found some really decent songs.
- Yaa101 17y agoWhich is not a punishment for all of us out of the US.
