I have many friends working in Indian pharma companies, working mostly on generics. There have been some instances where USFDA has forced shutdown of the entire plants, due to non-compliance of the USFDA norms (1). But most of the time, they ban some Indian generics, and let the same Indian company manufacture certain generics that USFDA/US needs.
