At 10, it may not be a passion for programming as much as a passion to do something with his father. I think back to my past, my dad is obsessed with baseball statistics. He would spend hours studying everything baseball... honestly I don't get why he likes it, but it's where he spent ALL his time. I was also interested in computers and video games, he found no value in either so he would never participate. If I wanted to spend time with him (and every boy does) i'd have to go to baseball games with him. So for several years I did. Honestly though, I hate baseball.
