I'm so often amazed when I see posts asking how to apply agile/scrum. The real question to me is why apply agile/scrum? What specific problem is it solving for you? Or are you just doing it because everyone else is? If it's the latter, then you probably don't need it. And in your case, I suspect if you're worried the talented folks would be annoyed with agile/scrum, it's because it might not be necessary process after all.
