I want a web browser that let me open multiple accounts of a similar site at once.
- mod50ack 11y agoI've always thought the same. It'd be great to have a browser that allowed fully independent sessions to be running simulataneously
- jitl 11y agoChrome has this feature with dedicated profiles, and you can accomplish this in firefox pretty easily using some good extensions.
- mod50ack 11y agoYeah, but that's really a hassle and such a workaround shouldn't be required. And firefox's extensibility is great as usual, but its bloat and the new UI and the ads on the tab pages disillusioned me
- gamman 11y agoIn chrome, you can make a shortcut for a profile by providing a flag --profile-directory="YourProfileName" It will be created if it doesn't exist and you can even set it to point to a TEMP folder for throwaways.

- paulryanrogers 11y agoFirefox can do this with separate profiles too, so long as you also include --no-remote with other instances.
- devbug 11y agoYou can do this in Chrome, already.
- moviuro 11y agoCould you elaborate, please? (link, pointers?)
- dagw 11y agoOpening new incognito tabs/windows will let you log on with different accounts in each window.

- moviuro 11y agoNo, cookies are shared across incognito windows (try gmail.com)
- dagw 11y agoAh, didn't realize that. Thinking about it, I've only used this 'hack' to have two different gmail accounts open at the same time (one in normal, one in incognito).
- nitin_flanker 11y agoNo we can't. Please don't suggest to go incognito.
- d4n3 11y agoThere' a user switcher button in the top right corner, you can have multiple browser sessions with seperate histories / cookies (e.g. work / personal)
- imakesnowflakes 11y agoI have been working on this plugin for a while. I just wrote up it's documentation. It is still waiting in the Mozilla's approval queue. 1. http://firstglitch.com/cookieplux/cookieplux-firfox-plugin-for-isolated-sessions.html http://firstglitch.com/cookieplux/cookieplux-firfox-plugin-f... Feel free to try it out.
- j_s 11y agoYou get 1 alternate session w/ Incognito or Private Browsing modes. Internet Explorer has File | New Session. Otherwise, it's down to extensions: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/multifox/ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/multifox/ https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/multilogin/nccllfnllopfpcbjdgjdlfmomnfgnnbk?hl=en https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/multilogin/nccllfn...
