Ad blocking isn't a system feature in iOS 9. The publicity is about an API that makes it easier for developers to write ad blockers.
There are also plenty of apps that duplicate system features.
- tomkinstinch 11y agoRight, and in iOS9 the features to allow ad blocking are built in to Safari, not iOS. Since MadBlocker works at the OS level, it can also block ads in (most) other apps as well. I believe it should work fine with iOS 9 too.
- mikhailt 11y agoRight, I get it. That's logical but this is Apple we're talking about who used vagueness and distortion of their rules to outlaw stuff like this in the past. Keep in mind that Apple have their own ads network as well, another reason why I'm surprised they'd allow this in the first place.
- mikhailt 11y agoDo you think Apple will see it that way? They've been very vague in the past about what defines duplicating the features. In addition, the dev said he was using the VPN as a workaround for this, Apple can very well reject this for a different reason.
