- cJ0th 11y agoI would imagine that your service can be turned into a SaaS. For example: a free service that allows x pages per ip address a day and a premium service with an "unlimited" amount of conversions.
- tobltobs 11y agoBecause the concurrence would happily take your users if you start asking for money.
- HeyLaughingBoy 11y agoAre you kidding? Donation? This is worth real money: sell it.
- briholt 11y agoThat's a pretty sweet site. I'd vote a freemium option. You could do things like: X conversions free per IP per month, upgrade for more X Mb files are free, upgrade for bigger files Do you have some stats on visitor loyalty? You probably get a lot of passer-bys, but the 1% that uses you weekly should be paying. It's not too much work to set up a Stripe or Paypal subscription service and put up a little paywall. It reminds me of https://www.url2png.com/ https://www.url2png.com/ which I subscribed to for a while.
- ryanSrich 11y agoughh....why not turn that into a business. Seems super legit.
- patio11 11y agoI paid $50 for downloadable software once which did one of these things that I needed done for one single document, once. [+] You can certainly charge for these. (n.b. I got my start in business with software which turned a random number generator into PDFs. My sense of it is the market for your product is orders of magnitude greater than the market for mine.) [ + ] There was a document holding up an insurance application holding up a $X0,000 consulting engagement. That's not the typical case in business, but businesses broadly speaking do have more money than you can possibly imagine to throw at solving real problems.
- tobltobs 11y agoThis is NOT one of my projects, but it is a good example anyway. Making a Saas or whatever out of this will not work, as there is too much concurrence.
