In the immortal words of Jason Ellis, "You need to harden the fuck up."
Why is it that we're removing so much responsibility from kids these days? Or is this the end result of helicopter parents?
- fredfoobar42 11y agoSpeaking up when someone hurts you, deliberately or otherwise, _is_ taking responsibility.
- Maken 11y agoThese measures doesn't encourage people to speak up, but to avoid hearing anything they don't like. That's not taking responsibility, it's avoiding even the decision of taking or not responsibility.
- fredfoobar42 11y agoTelling someone to shut up because they're being abusive is still speaking up and taking responsibility. You have all the right to say what you want. Nobody has the right to listen to you, and they have as much right to tell you to shut your hole.
- babygoat 11y agoThey're trying to make sure their kids don't look up to a truck racing, comedy rock/metal vocalist for life lessons.
- peterwwillis 11y agoIf you call them kids you've already removed their responsibility. Start calling college students adults and suddenly it all becomes a lot more ridiculous. Get your shit together, adults.
- jazzyk 11y agoMake no mistake, it is all by design. Counselors, puppy rooms, etc. - the "higher education" industrial complex needs to keep growing and justify the ever-increasing tuition. I put "higher education " in quotes because it has less and less to do with education, sadly.
