    This may be the case in the current age, where ships have freezers. But this article[1] says that in a refrigerator (not freezer), mozarella lasts for just a couple of weeks.       It is untrue because you don't make pizza onboard of an old ship: you can't have the oven over there! You make pizza on the coast, where mozzarella, flour and tomato are produced
