Yeah, I keep hearing the same from buddies out there. You can do an AB test :) Set up a Tinder profile, spoof your GPS to New York, swipe on everyone, compare your percentages to SF. NYC is dramatically higher. Worth considering whether one values career opportunities (assuming you want to do tech) more or values other aspects of life more (assuming you want a more active dating life). I have guy friends who want to settle down in SF, but refuse to move here from New York until they've found someone they want to marry and who is willing to move with them.
