Honestly, I think it's more a function of culture in medicine. I've had many doctors, and the majority of them I could charitably call callous. It hasn't been just my experience, but those of most people I know as well. That being said, both my current doctor and dentist were chosen partially on the basis of Yelp reviews. It's been a huge help, far nicer and far better service than I've ever had previously.
